In university, it was fashionable from time to time to groan about the ignorance and backwardness of people who lived in centuries past. It was hard to believe how barbaric and unenlightened they were! In the time-warp of modern leftism, though, we don’t need to go back to previous centuries – we can just skip back to last month and the orthodoxies of the moment are already sadly out of fashion.
Such is clearly the case with women’s sports. Gone was the fashionable idea from the recent past that women should compete against women. How…..um…..exclusionary.
There is a new victim class in town, the trans-athlete. In the hierarchy of leftist victimhood, trans rates higher than female.
Nevermind that Gavin Hubbard (now calling himself female and using the name Laurel) lived 30+ years as a man – now that he has suppressed his testosterone for the time being, the International Olympic Committee is allowing him to compete as a woman. Because science!
